Description
A leading alternatives investment manager is seeking an ESG Implementation and Strategy Manager to help develop and execute the firm’s ESG strategy across investment portfolios and distribution processes. You will work closely with investment teams, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure that ESG principles are effectively integrated into our investment decisions, communications and day-to-day practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement the firm’s ESG strategy, including setting goals, identifying key ESG factors, and developing frameworks for ESG integration into investment & distribution processes.
- Work with investment teams to embed ESG criteria into the due diligence, selection, and monitoring processes for investments. Develop tools and guidelines to support effective ESG integration.
- Oversee the tracking and reporting of ESG performance metrics for alternative investments. Prepare comprehensive reports for internal stakeholders, clients, and regulatory bodies, highlighting ESG outcomes and progress.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including investment teams, clients, and ESG experts, to advance ESG initiatives and ensure alignment with industry standards and client expectations.
- Act as an ESG SME to educate all internal stakeholders and ensure standardisation across product literature, marketing materials, internal & external communications etc.
- Stay abreast of emerging ESG trends, best practices, and innovations. Conduct research and provide insights to enhance the firm’s ESG strategy and practices.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ESG strategy, implementation, or related roles within alternative investments, asset management, or a similar field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g. CFA ESG certification) is a major plus.
- Strong understanding of ESG principles, frameworks, and regulations, particularly in the context of alternative investments.
- Familiarity with ESG reporting standards (e.g. TCFD, PRI, Net Zero, Carbon Emissions etc.) is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ESG information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
